J. F. Hoen was born in the Netherlands and currently resides in Virginia Beach. He was admitted to the bar in Virginia in 1989 and joined Joseph Smith, Ltd. as an Associate in 1997.

Mr. Hoen has lived in several countries and has practiced in Richmond, Roanoke, Northern Virginia, and Tidewater regions of Virginia. His practice areas have included personal injury, criminal defense, and medical malpractice defense. This diverse background brings a broad range of experience into play in representing the clients of Joseph Smith, Ltd.
