Each client who retains our firm is assigned to a Case Manager, in addition to their attorney. The function of the Case Manager is to help our clients with the many details and potential difficulties they encounter during the pendency of an injury claim. The Case Managers function as a point of contact for our clients so they can relay important information to the attorneys even when the attorney is out of the office and in the courtroom. They are trained and experienced in dealing with the needs of our clients on a one to one basis.
If a claim is unable to be resolved through the negotiation process, suit is filed and a Legal Assistant is also assigned. Our Legal Assistants have received specialized legal training and stay current on the requirements of the courts of the local jurisdictions to ensure that their criteria are met. They work closely with our clients through the litigation process and support the attorneys in preparing cases for trial.
Our assistant, Roland J. White, supports the attorneys in evaluating personal injury cases. Mr. White retired from the U.S. Army as a combat veteran after twenty years of honorable service. His many years of insurance education and work with a major national insurance company provided him with extensive knowledge of all forms of liability and casualty insurance policy coverage. In addition to assisting the attorneys, Mr. White aids the firms' case managers in assembling documentation and evidence to support the successful resolution of personal injury cases. Mr. White also has a strong commitment to the community's betterment and has served on several community boards and commissions. His unique blend of talent and experience rounds out Joseph Smith, Ltd.'s team. Stewart P. (Stu) Patterson, firm investigator, assists the attorneys with the investigation of cases the firm accepts. Mr. Patterson has over 20 years of experience as manager of corporate security for several major corporations and additional experience as administrator for a medical facility catering to personal injury patients. By ensuring that we have all of the pertinent facts and documentation as soon as possible, our attorneys can make the decisions necessary to best serve the interests of our clients. With his extensive experience, he can view both sides of each case and assist the firm in fighting unfair claims practices by insurance companies.
