Stephen H. Pitler

Stephen H. Pitler, a native of Norfolk, Virginia, joined the firm in 1973. Mr. Pitler graduated from Granby High School in 1963. While at Granby, he participated in football, wrestling, and baseball. He was a district wrestling champion and placed second in the state wrestling tournament. In 1963, he was selected the outstanding high school baseball player for the City of Norfolk.

Mr. Pitler went on to attend Temple University on an athletic scholarship where he participated in football, wrestling and baseball. In 1967, he was selected as the outstanding athlete for his participation in all three sports. After graduating from Temple University, he went on to work in the private sector for two years. Thereafter Mr. Pitler went on to law school at the University of Baltimore, graduating in 1973. In 1970, he married Joseph Smith's daughter, Janet, whom he had met while attending Temple University. Upon graduation from law school, he joined the law firm of Joseph Smith, Ltd.Admitted to the bar in Virginia in 1973.
